Hi Folks,

Let’s talk about good health today. Specifically your blood pressure.

High blood pressure is one of the big ”Senior Slayers” and its the sneaky kind of killer. There are no symptoms because you don’t know you have high blood pressure unless you check it. But, as the following article points out, there are ways to prevent or control high blood pressure. So here is some good advice that we all should heed.

EXERCISE FOR SENIORS – oh yes you do need it. :-)

Good Morning,

In a few minutes I am going to have to get off my duff and go exercise.

I hate exercise! I always have and probably always will. However, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning I get out and go down to my church gym and exercise with friends. I am not very knowledgeable about exercise but I know it’s good for me and a very important part of my life.

The National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health report “For the most part, when older people lose their ability to do things on their own, it doesn’t happen just because they have aged. More likely, it is because they have become inactive. Older inactive adults lose ground in four areas that are important for staying healthy and independent: endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility.”
