Retired From Work But Not Retired from Life
Hi Folks,
If you are a regular visitor to my sites you know that I believe that retirement is a gift, an exciting time of your life that should be filled with activities, purpose, opportunities and a chance to do what you want to do. No bosses to please, no deadlines to meet, no quotas to fill – except your own. A gift that millions of people around the world are dreaming about.
If you are retired (or planning retirement) please don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to really experience life and do some of the things you didn’t have time for when you were employed.

HAPPY NEWS, GOOD NEWS, POSITIVE NEWS AND FUN NEWS
Hi Folks,
I have only a short little article for you today but hopefully what I’m going to tell you will help bring smiles to your face day after day for years to come!
Do you get tired of all the bad news, sad news, negative news and discouraging news that you hear and see every day? I know I do.
I am a big news fan. I love keeping up with what is happening in the world but honestly I don’t understand why the media folks have to only report the bad news. There is a lot of good news happening out there all the time but rarely does anyone tell us about it. What a shame.

Joy In “Everyday Living”
Hi Folks,
My personal motto is: Real Joy Is In “Everyday Living”. Taking pleasure in going to the bank, washing the car, running the vacuum, talking with neighbors - everyday things. I try to live by this little motto every day even though some days are harder than others. But just remembering my motto generally makes me smile. And it sure beats a frown, or a sad sack face.
One of my “everyday joys” is providing food and water for the wild birds that frequent our back yard. It doesn’t involve much work and feed isn’t expensive because I watch for sales. And you can’t watch wild birds without smiling.

ARE YOU A BAD NEWS JUNKIE?
The December 27, 2008 issue of the National Post published a very interesting article entitled Bad News Junkies, http://www.nationalpost.com/related/links/story.html?id=1118050. Reporter Allison Hanes introduced her readers to Hymie Anisman, a neuroscientist at Carleton University in Ottawa, who has diagnosed a new, highly contagious ailment for this recession era: Economic Masochism.
Dr. Anisman, who studies the effects of stress, said in a recent interview “I have a friend who sits all day going through various journals online and various blogs as if he wants to find bad news. He’s read it all 20 times, he knows what’s there. It’s almost like he’s addicted by it. But every once in a while he’ll get some little glimmer that will reinforce some little glimmer of hope.”
