Popular Vacations for Active Seniors
Hi Folks,
I’m just back from exercise with my group. We have the best time. I never thought I would enjoy exercise!
This morning one of my friends in the group was telling us about his upcoming vacation to Denver. He has a very busy 10 days planned, including four games watching his beloved Cubs.
Most of my retired friends are very active, always off and doing something; traveling, helping others, repairing storm damaged houses, heading up food drives, blood drives, children camps, and on and on.

WD-40 and Senior Handymen
As a lot of you know I’m not a young man any more. But there aren’t many days that I’m not out at my workbench fixing something, making something or just tinkering. Three supply items that I always keep at my bench are duct tape, Gorilla Glue, and WD-40. With those three items most of us senior handymen can fix almost anything
Today’s post is a list of some of the things you can do with WD-40. I don’t think anyone has developed a complete list of the things WD-40 can do, but here are a few.

ACTIVE SENIORS – Golf Tips For The Senior Golfer
Hi Folks,
Last week my “Retirement On A Budget” site decided to throw a fit and go on strike. So I moved on over to my “Woodys Retirement Blog” until I could figure what was up with this one. I was real excited about Friday’s post for senior golfers so I am re-posting it on here in “Retirement On A Budget”.
I must admit that I don’t know much about golf. But that’s OK because most of my friends are golfers (and good golfers at that, so they tell me
) so I’m sure they will keep me straight on everything I publish about golf.

Low Cost Family Fun Trips – Part Two
Hi Folks,
Here is part two of Low Cost Family Fun Trips, by Febe Van Zanten. These articles are written for families with children but they are just as enjoyable for adults without children.
As I mentioned yesterday Janie and I love to travel but those wonderful times on the road have been curtailed drastically this year due to the bad economy.
But I have at least a dozen day trips planned for this summer and fall (we have already taken a couple) plus a couple overnighters. These should satisfy our wondering spirit.

GOOD HEALTH, EXERCISE, AND SENIORS
Hi Folks,
This isn’t the first time I have blogged about this, so I guess this is what our young folks would call “a nag”. OK, so be it. But this is one nag you should listen to and heed!
Did you know that inactivity contributes to an estimated 250,000 deaths each year in the United States? This, in spite of our being reminded constantly on TV, in newspapers, and magazines of how vitally important exercise is. . . Especially for seniors!!!!
Over one half of all Americans fail to meet current standards for exercise as recommended by the CDC, the US Surgeon General, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American College of Preventative Medicine. And I’ll bet this percentage is even higher for seniors. And these experts are talking about only 3o minutes of moderate exercise five days a week.
