Consulting Jobs For Retirees

Hi Folks,

Finding a job as a retiree isn’t easy! Many of you know this from experience. I try to follow the job market for retirees as closely as I can (this is difficult because no one keeps stasticcs on retiree job seekers), but from all I can learn, we aren’t having much luck finding paying  jobs. And that’s why I always encourage retirees to start their own business; mow lawns, clean houses, sell at flea markets, the list of possibilities is endless. And being your own boss keeps you from having to kiss up to someone who doesn’t want you around.

Today’s author looks at another possibility for retiree job seekers, consulting. Read Kellie Reamer’s article and see if there’s a possibility there for you.

Employment Matters: Working Into Your Later Years

Hi Folks,

When individuals are in their twenties or thirties, they often vow to earn enough money to retire as early as possible. At that early age, they have the misguided notion that as soon as they hit their sixties life will be all sunshine and roses. The reality, as many seniors know, is completely different. More and more people worldwide are having to work into their seventies because of financial shortfalls in their expected earnings. Some seniors are choosing to continue to work well into their seventies because they find it therapeutic or it provides them with a social life and something to do. Either way, there are certain things that seniors should know about working through their retirement.

All seniors should undergo regular health checks to determine whether or not it is in their best interests to work. As we get older, we become more susceptible to ailments and maladies because the body degrades over time. Unfortunately, this means we all become less mobile as we get older. Ironically though, working into old age often keeps individuals more mobile than they would be if they were sitting at home during their retirement. Remaining inactive for a period of time often causes joints to stiffen, thus making it more difficult to move. However, working for just an hour a day will encourage the natural movement of the joints and exercise the muscles around them, thus making the body suppler in general.

Jobs For Retirees

Hi Folks,

The face of retirement sure has changed over the past few year, hasn’t it?

For the most part we are a much healthier lot than our forefathers and we live a lot longer. We are a great deal more active than our parents, being involved in numerous worthy activities and, for various reasons, many of us continue working during our senior years.

And that’s what Rick Roberts, today’s guest author, is writing about, the options for work after retirement.

Will My Social Security Check Be Enough?

Hi Folks,

As I have mentioned in previous posts, more people arrive at this website with the search term “living only on Social Security” than any other search term. People are looking for ways to live on their Social Security check.

If you are one of these folks I can tell you that, in my opinion, unless you make some drastic lifestyle changes, go back to work, find a part time job, or start your own business, you’re not going to be able to live on Social Security alone!

Working After Retirement

Hi Retirees,

Are you considering going back to work, or finding a part time job, or starting your own business and not sure what you should do? Well, welcome to the club. There are lots of retired folks out there in the same predicament.

I personally prefer my own business and many retirees do well with their own home business but not everyone has the disposition for a commercial enterprise and prefer to work for an employer.

Annuities – What is An Annuity?

Hi Folks,

Today I have an informative little article for you that does a great job explaining annuities. If you have been wondering about annuities as part of your retirement income portfolio, this article is for you.

I never give any sort of investment advice, even to my closest friends, except this: hire yourself a good, fee based Certified Financial Planner that comes highly recommended from several clients and businesses, and that has a good record with The Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce.
