Who’s Your Neighbor?
Hi Folks,
This little post has nothing to do with being a senior or being retired.
I just want to share with you a neat site I discovered that shows you a map of your neighborhood and tells you who your neighbors are.
This site is not only useful and interesting but it’s also fun to poke around in. :-)

Senior Health: 11 Resolutions For A Healthier 2012
Hi Folks,
A new year is upon us so it’s time to make our list of New Year’s Resolutions.
What! Do I hear you saying you no longer make New Year Resolutions? That’s terrible! Why not? In my opinion New Year’s Resolutions are more important for seniors than they are for younger folks, or at least as important.
As seniors we have less time left to do some mighty important and exciting things. Sort of like a giant bucket list

Senior’s Guide to Computers
Hi Folks,
A few weeks ago I wrote about a website that I had located, designed specifically to help non-tech-savvy seniors, http://www.retirement-on-a-budget.com/a-web-site-for-non-tech-savvy-seniors/.
I have had lots of visitors to that page since I first published it which would seem to indicate that there are lots of seniors out there who would like to know more about computers and the internet.

What to keep in a safe deposit box – what not to
Hi Folks,
Where do you keep your wills and birth certificates? Where do you keep your insurance policies? How about your certificate of deposits?
Most folks would say you should keep these documents in a safety deposit box. But that is only partially correct. Some documents should not be kept in a safety deposit box!
You should not keep the originals of your living wills, medical directives, funeral and burial wishes, wills and powers of attorney in a safety deposit box - anything you might need at the last moment. These items should be kept in a fireproof box or safe in your home or a place where you can get access to them immediately. These are items that you will need immediately when the need arises and don’t have the time to wait for the bank to open. Also some states require a court order to open the safety deposit box of a deceased person.

A WEB SITE FOR NON TECH SAVVY SENIORS
Hi Folks,
This post is for you folks who are not very tech savvy and/or have friends who are not very tech savvy. Boy! Do I have a great site for you! http://www.teachparentstech.org/watch
Google created this site for kids to e-mail how-to videos to their parents, grandparents and others about basic computer operations. But this is a great site for anyone wondering through the computer maze. So, watch the videos yourself and put your non-techy friends onto it by e-mailing the special form that you will find on the site, http://www.teachparentstech.org/watch (or just tell them about it
).

A New Approach to Post-Recession Retirement
Hi Folks,
This week I received an email from Harold S. Reid II, Account Supervisor with Hill & Knowlton providing me with a summary of a new study sponsored by SunAmerica Financial Group SunAmerica Study Reports on Resilience of Americans as They Focus on New Approach to Post-Recession Retirement.
This is an excellent and informative report that every adult - especially those over 55 – should read. I highly recommend that readers of this blog read this report.

Protecting Your Social Security Number From Identity Theft
Hi Folks,
Today’s article is not necessarily just for seniors. It is for everyone who has a Social Security number.
So why am I publishing it in my blog for seniors? Well, for two reasons: one, the author goes much deeper into his discussion of identity theft than the average article you read so seniors need to read it; and two, because it is a more thoroughly written article you should pass it along to your children and your friends so they will also have the benefit of being better prepared against identity theft.
