AGING

Let’s Hear it for Getting Older!

Hi Folks,

2010. Wow! A new year and a new decade. If you haven’t been enjoying life you had better hurry up and start. :-)  Time sure isn’t slowing down, waiting for us to catch up.

What did you do in 2009 that you really enjoyed, that fulfilled a dream, that makes you smile when you look back over it? What did you do that helped others, encouraged others, cheered others?

Give Gifts That ‘Pay It Forward’

Hi Folks,

Well, we attended our first Christmas party of the year yesterday evening. It was fun. Getting together with family and friends is always great but when it’s with special, long time friends it is even better.

Now, it’s confession time. I am absolutely awful at choosing good and thoughtful gifts. I dread shopping for gifts because I don’t know what to buy, so I’m always looking for good ideas.

Adding Value After Retirement

Hi Folks,
How do people describe you when you aren’t around? ”Always helping others”, ”always learning something new”, “a useful member of society”, ”always making a difference”, ”great to have around”. Or do they use words like, always complaining, whining, criticizing, not very useful?
I’m afraid many retirees are not living the life they should. We find it easier to let others do the work while we just set around, finding fault and criticizing.
