Great Vacations in Your Own Backyard

Hi Folks,

If you have been reading my blog for very long you know that I’m a fan of “Staycations” – taking vacations close to home: ( http://www.retirement-on-a-budget.com/staycations-stress-free-relaxing-money-saving-and-fun/.htm) (http://www.retirement-on-a-budget.com/staycations-for-broke-retirees/.htm).
Staycations are great for almost everyone but especially for retirees (and families) that are watching their money.

Hi Folks,

Here is a unique thought on solving the housing question for single seniors, live like the Golden Girls – share a home.

A few years ago some very good single friends of mine talked about sharing a home in their golden years. And their idea passed by the wayside as they drifted apart.

Maximize Your Retirement Income

Hi Folks,

The following article is mostly for folks that are still working and trying to maximize their retirement savings. Hi Folks,

Want to hear some real horror stories about party planning? Ask folks that have planned a retirement party.

5 Golden Rules For Things To Do In Retirement

 Hi Folks,

It’s been a while since I have printed an article by Susan Kersley. Shame on me. This doctor turned life coach has so many encouraging words of wisdom to pass on to us seniors that I should publish an article a week written by her.

In this article she is directing her words to folks that have not yet retired but truth is these “5 golden rules for things to do in retirement” apply just as much to retirees as to pre-retirees.

Stay Happy and Healthy in Retirement-Discover Your Purpose

Hi Folks,

Having a purpose in life is essential for a happy, healthy retirement!!! No questions, no arguments, no debate. It is just a simple,  irrefutable fact.

Of course, as Carol Barrett points out in her article below, many of us were given a purpose when we were young whether we knew it or not, whether we liked it or not, or whether we fulfilled it or not.
