Retirement – How to Plan For Pleasure After Employment
Hi Folks,
One problem I have not had during retirement is being bored. Sometimes I tell my wife that I may go back to work so that I will have some free time.
Unfortunately I know a few retirees that think retirement is the pits. Poor souls, they simply don’t understand that retirement can be one of the best times of their life. Our guest writer today is Mary Anderson and she has some good advice for all of us retired folks.
Happy retirement,

Proven Ways to Make Your Car Last 300,000 Miles
Hi Fellow Retirees,
For most of us a new car every five years or so is just a fond memory. We must now make our transportation last as long as possible.
The March 29 issue of Bottom Line Secrets E-letter has an excellent article about how to make your car last 300,000 miles. I have published the entire article below. May I suggest that we all read it, print it out, and follow it. I’m going to.
I have one more suggestion: subscribe to Bottom Line Secrets E-letter. Its free.

RETIREMENT FEARS OF OUTLIVING YOUR MONEY
Hi Folks,
For retirees the fear of outliving our money is probably more scary than that of becoming ill. ”What can I do to ensure having enough money to last my lifetime?”, is probably the most asked question at the retirement seminars I attend. Usually the answer (meant to be funny) is “Have lots of money”. But recent events where clients of Bernard Madoff lost their entire life savings of millions of dollars has proven that even having millions isn’t the answer.
Cathy Severson is an authority in retirement life planning. Let’s listen to her advice.

HOW TO ENJOY A HAPPY RETIREMENT
Hi Folks,
Well, it obvious that the economy isn’t going to turn around soon. And that is real serious news for those of us that are trying to live on our retirement savings. When I tell people that I have lost 42% of the value of my savings, they tell me I’m lucky!
Many of my retired friends have found part time work (read McDonalds, car parts delivery, bag boys, etc) and some have started little side-line businesses (tractor work, light carpentry, painting, etc). Strangely enough, I have noticed that the folks starting their own little businesses seem to be happier than they used to be. So may this isn’t all bad.
